Since purchasing the Fairfield Hotel in July 2011, O’Hara Group has invested $2.5 million in its refurbishment which includes the launch of the Green Peppercorn Restaurant. As a result, patronage has increased by 400%. As part of this upgrade, the Fairfield Hotel would like to increase the number of gaming machines at the hotel from 23 to 30

The Fairfield Hotel is preparing to submit a Class 2 Local Impact Assessment (LIA) application to the Independent Liquor and Gaming Control Authority (ILGA) to allow an increase in gaming machines at the venue.

Since its refurbishment, the Fairfield Hotel has become an integral part of the local community. It has become a more family friendly venue which appeals to Fairfield’s diverse local community. The Fairfield Hotel has been a finalist in the NSW AHA Award for Excellence in multiple categories every year since 2012 and has won both state and national awards.

The proposed increase of seven machines at the hotel represents an increase of less than 0.2% across the Fairfield local government area.

Should the proposal be approved, the Fairfield Hotel is proposing to establish a $2 million community fund. The fund would provide contributions to local community groups and additional responsible gambling and harm minimisation measures above legislative requirements over the next five years.

To support its application, the Fairfield Hotel is currently undertaking community and stakeholder consultation.

Should you require any more information on this proposal or would like to provide your feedback, please contact Dan O’Hara Fairfield Hotel via email dan@oharagroup.com.au or call 1800 252 040 during business hours.
